Lizard Lizard:Will You Take a Stand or Run Away

By Kia G.

Nature is the most beautiful thing. I am often in awe of what God has created for us to enjoy. His canvas is very beautiful, when you stop to look at it. The flowers, the soft noise, and the artistry in the sky. All are ours to enjoy in abundance and at no cost. The only cost that is paid is my sanity… how can I enjoy His work of art with the little animals he put on it.

I love being outside. I absolutely love everything about it; the sun, the flowers, the trees, and the sounds. I am always looking for ways to improve my outdoor surroundings. From the furniture to the pavers I laid and the swing that was hung. There is one thing that washes all the good thoughts away… wait for it!!!

Lizards...

For the life of me I cannot imagine the reason God placed these little creatures here on earth. The only reason I can fathom  is to scare the HELL out of me. Yes, I am scared of them. It is not a secret and I do not care what you think of me. These little creatures invade my privacy, making my patio their home. I sometimes think that they enjoy it more than me. They come in so many shades, sizes, and variations;unique in their own way, to uniquely bother me.

"I guess I have a choice to make"

As I am sitting here writing I swear this lizard is mocking me. It is trying to show me that he is in charge and this is his territory that I am invading. I guess I have a choice to make. Will I let the lizards run me inside or will I learn to deal with them? Should I learn how to ignore their presence or embrace what they were created to be?

Lizards or whatever your demons may be, will you let them run you away? Whether on your patio or in your life, you have to make a decision about those lizards in your life. Will you let them run you inside, to only view the masterpiece God has created for you, or will you stake your spot daring them to even try to come near you?

Remember that many will try to stand in the way of your happiness and peace, but don’t let the lizards in your life keep you from enjoying the masterpiece that is called life.
